OK, its bag of chips once again!

Many of you will be aware of problems related to the billing of Heat & Hot Water charges this year.

Some people have received large rebates & some have been landed with huge bills... several hundreds of £££'s discrepancy between properties within the blocks. (affecting tenants across the city - not just Barton Hill).

Meetings have been held to discuss this problem & as far as I am aware, to date, nothing satisfactory to remedy the situation has been sorted out yet - the last I heard is that next year things may be worse rather than better.

One idea put forward was that the gas consumption from the individual block boilers was ascertained, costs worked out & bills divided equally between households with everyone regardless of usage paying the same amount. This is clearly not a fair system & would result in low usage households effectively subsidising neighbours bills.

I think its time to scrap the current system of evaporation tubes.

My suggestion is that to be fair to everyone, each flat should be fitted with two 'flow' meters (one on the incoming Hot Water System & one on the incoming Heating System).
This way everyone will pay for exactly what they use.. no more, no less,
it will also solve the problem of disputed evaporation readings.

Its not rocket science just plain common sense.

(if anyone reading this is a member of any tenants representative organisation, or official of BCC, of attends any of the meetings surrounding this problem ... please put forward this suggestion (if you agree with it of course - but why wouldnt you?) Thanks.

Bag of Chips.

Has there been any developments around the problems of the Hot Water/Heating bill fiasco yet?

Any resolution to the reported £600/800? pound bills that some residents have been landed with?

Anything 'sorted-out' to make sure Next Years bills are accurate & fair?
-its an important topic that affects everybody!

I hope SOMEONE SOMEWHERE is 'on the case' & 'SOMETHING' is being done.

Anyone Know ?.....

Hi all,

The flow metre idea has to be one of the best i have heard.

I have not had my heating on for two years now. Last year i recieved a check/rebate which i used towards my rent, which came to roughly £80/£90. This year however i recieved a check for £20, which i promptly returned along with a letter of complaint itemising where inaccuracies occured.

Sadely i have heard nothing in response.

Has anybody had any joy?

good evening each and everyone (well the one of you) Laughing Very Happy

The heating Bills will soon be dropping like lead weights on the mat Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Oh what joy.

Some of you will have read my note, well those of you in Corbett, Ecceslton, Longlands and Beaufort will have done as ONE WAS PUT THROUGH EVERY DOOR (BY MYSELF) So no-one can say that they were not warned.
People have asked why I have not delivered all the other blocks - why should I ?
Let someone else do the walking

Any way it seems that those on 'cosession' heating will be no longer and we will all pay the same,( Across the City) well all those in 2 bed flats will as will all those in 1 bed pay a bit less.

Are all the CCTV cameras working ? A question we must ask ?

Sleep well, no nightmares

Good Evening each - Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Does any one read this site any more ? It would appear not, only Stacy.

Any way Stacy, the Council have relented ove rhte scraping of the Clorus system of reading meters. Because I got the M.P. and the Carbon Trust involved.
The Clorus system will be with us for at least antoher 3 years, so it seems. But I would not count on it.

All the best Stacy, would it be possable for the NDC to produce a newsletter or put an article in the I.T.K. ?

I am collecting articles at the moment for the new newsletter (due out January 2009) so if you'd like to submit an article about the heating system please send it to me by end of November.
Either email it to stacy.yelland@communityatheart.co.uk or drop it in to me at 202 Avonvale Road.
